Description | Harrison reports news on various papers.
He encloses Sir George Darwin's report on Dr Raymond Pearl's paper 'A Biometrical Study of Conjugation in Paramoecium', noting that neither Mr Sedgwick nor Francis Galton, to whom the paper was sent, are able to act as referees. He asks that Weldon nominate another referee to replace Galton and possibly one more, given that Darwin stated he could not report on the biological aspects, to ensure that they get two reports on the paper.
Papers by J E Moore and Miss Alice L Embleton on 'The Synapsis in Amphibia' and Moore and Arnold on 'The constancy of form among the synaptic germini (heterotype chromosomes) in certain animals' were sent to Weldon in the usual manner, but no instructions have been received, so Harrison fears they have been lost or overlooked.
Harrison also encloses cards with reference to two new papers. |
