| Description | Harrison explains that the Royal Society have been considering how to improve the ventilation of their meeting room and have appointed a committee of engineers, physicists and specialists to report on the subject. Dr William Napier Shaw, director of the Meteorological Office, has gone over the building and roof plans with Harrison, investigating various shafts and openings, and has drawn up a report for the Committee to discuss.
As Garwood is believed to be well acquainted with the structure of the Royal Geological Society's portion of Burlington House, it has been suggested that he may have information that would be of assistance to the committee. Harrison explains that the Committee will be meeting there at 2.30pm, and if he is available to visit and share his experience, they would be grateful. |
