TitleCopy letter from Archibald Geikie, to Dr John William Henry Eyre, [Guy's Hospital]
Date17 March 1906
DescriptionGeikie has discovered from the Colonial Office, that they are yet to receive information from the naval and military departments concerning Eyre's appointment, but that upon hearing that Colonel David Bruce has paid a visit to both departments and gained their approval, the Colonial Office will allow him to make preparations to depart by the 23 March as proposed.

Monthly payments, either from London or Malta, will present no difficulties. They will need a letter from Eyre to state his wishes in the matter. The Royal Society will advance him £50 from their own funds for his convenience.
