Description | [The letter is crossed through in blue pencil]
Geikie explains that, having been seriously ill for the past few weeks, he is out of touch with recent events.
He is sorry to hear of friction between Moore and the Assistant Secretary at the Royal Society, and notes that Moore's account differs from those of the Society's staff, but he had hoped after Moore's letter to Harrison of 5 April the matter would be considered closed, having been satisfactorily explained. He believes it requires no further action from him.
The delay to Mr Walker's paper arose as he did not reply to a request, from the Clerk in charge of the Society's publications, for the Society to be put in direct communication with the engravers he recommended. He has taken up the matter and hopes there will be no further delay in publishing the paper. |
