I have the honour to enclose herewith cards of invitation to the forthcoming Soirée of the Royal Society. I shall be much obliged if Your Grace will place the invitation before Her Royal Highness the Princess Louise, Duchess of Argyll, and I have to assure you that it would give the Officers and the Fellows of the Society generally great gratification if Her Royal Highness and Your Grace would honour us with your presence on this occasion.
