TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Professor Frank Watson Dyson, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date9 June 1906
DescriptionHarrison conveys the opinion of Mr Wesley regarding reproduction of Dyson's corona spectrum photograph, stating that he believes the faint lines Dyson wishes to show will not appear regardless of whether reproduced in collotype or half tone. This view agrees with the experience of the Royal Society in such matters. He suggests that he allow the engraver to strengthen the lines on his plate, rather than the negative, which will allow them to show up; a technique successfully used in the Mars photographs in Mr Lowell's paper. Alternatively, he may prefer an diagrammatic illustration.
