DescriptionIn reply to Mackinlay's letter of the previous day it is usual to obtain the formal consent of the Council for the re-publication of papers printed in the Royal Society's publications and Harrison has general power to grant permission in anticipation of leave of Council, subject to Mackinlay acknowledging the source of the publication.

The paper is not available in a separate form and the number of 'Proceedings [of the Royal Society]' in which it appeared is now nearly out of print. Offers to lend the volume containing it to print from when the time comes for setting up copy.
