TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Sir Thomas Lauder Brunton, [Fellow of the Royal Society], 10 Stratford Place, W
Date18 June 1906
DescriptionExplains that Dr Churchill is evidently very keen on being invited to the Soiree. Explains that he has no power to issue any invitation on his own but that each member of the Soiree Committee has the right to nominate three guests and any casual claims that arise afterwards are settled by the Officers generally, in consultation with the Chairman of the Soiree Committee. Any strong recommendation from Brunton or any other Fellow of similar standing, would of course carry great weight, but the Committee do not wish to add to the list on account of the overcrowding of the rooms. If Brunton feels strongly Harrison will put the matter forward but otherwise Brunton might suggest Churchill's name for consideration when the Soiree Committee meets for next year's Soiree.
