Title | Copy letter from Alfred Bray Kempe, to [Professor William Abbott] Herdman, Fellow of the Royal Society |
Date | 31 July 1906 |
Description | Kempe learns that Herdman's 'Ceylon Report' is running into five volumes. Sees by a memorandum of Herdman's of 21 June that Lucas is aware of this, but Kempe has no information as to who is going to pay for the production of the fifth volume. The Crown Agent's Memorandum of 18 June, which Herdman has seen, shows that they did not then know of any fifth volume. The Ceylon Government have only undertaken to pay a sum not exceeding £500 for volumes III and IV. This sum has already been spent on those two volumes. |
