Title | Copy letter from Joseph Larmor, to Professor Hugh Longbourne Callendar, [Fellow of the Royal Society] |
Date | 12 September 1906 |
Description | Encloses a paper by Soddy, which is to be followed by another on the application of his method to alpha rays. Has put the paper down provisionally for the '[Philosophical] Transactions [of the Royal Society]'. When he read it the first half seemed a recapitulation of his patent specifications, but Larmor was much interested in the second half, which he thinks must be largely new, and the promise of the coming paper of application to alpha rays. It seems a case where the Chairman might act as a referee and Larmor is willing to report in the papers favour. Soddy proposes a demonstration at the Society. |
