TitleCopy letter from Archibald Geikie, to Dr Sidney Martin, [Fellow of the Royal Society]
Date15 May 1907
DescriptionGeikie explains that, following C E [Charles Edward] Walker's return to Liverpool from abroad, Walker has sent in a letter with an enclosed manuscript appendix to his paper. He has read the appendix, and takes exception to it on the grounds that a simple acknowledgement of Mathews' work was requested, which need not having been longer than a couple of sentences, but Walker has adopted a defensive tone as though responding to an accusation. He does not wish to see it published in Proceedings of the Royal Society, but asks for Martin's opinion.

Geikie departs on Saturday to attend the Linnaeus celebrations in Upsala, Sweden. Walker has submitted another paper which is also being forwarded to Martin, communicated by Professor Farmer.
