DescriptionGeikie explains that the Royal Society has received a letter, forwarded by Colonel David Bruce, from Dr Eyre relating to an illness he contracted during his work as a member of the Malta Fever Commission. Eyre is noted to have a 'reasonable claim' on the funds allocated to the Commission, notably in regard to his pay for the 73 days between 11 September and 22 November, and he submits the question of his compensation to the Colonial Office.
