Description | Larmor has been directed by the President and Council of the Royal Society, as the incorporated body responsible for the National Physical Laboratory, to apply on their behalf, under section 62, for the registration under Trade Marks Act 1905 of the two marks used by the laboratory in marking instruments and goods tested by them. Subject to the control of the Society, the Laboratory is managed, in line with a scheme approved by the Treasury, by an Executive Committee appointed by the Society as an institution for standarising and verifying instruments used in tests.
Kew Observatory have used the mark for many years and they now form part of the Laboratory, with the main buildings situated at Bushy House, Teddington, and the mark placed on instruments tested there. Larmor refers to page three of the Physics Test Pamphlet and page four of the Observatory test Pamphlet for specimens of the marks. |
