DescriptionGeikie explains that the Mediterranean Fever investigation, under the direction of the Royal Society, has been concluded with the discovery of the origin of the fever and the means of eradicating it in Malta. They wish to thank the Royal Army Medical Corps for enabling the sucess of such a long and difficult enquiry, with their reports provided a valuable record of the study. Colonel David Bruce's contribution as Chairman of the Commission is particularly noted, guiding the observers in Malta and visiting himself several times.

He lists other military members of the Commission deserving of high praise: Lieutenant Colonel A M Davies, Major W H Horrocks, Captain J Crawford Kennedy, Major T MacCulloch, Major J C Weir, and Major J G McNaught. The gratitude of the Royal Society is conveyed.
