Title | Copy letter from Archibald Geikie, to Lord Fitzmaurice, Foreign Office [Chairman of the International Conference on Sleeping Sickness] |
Date | 18 June 1907 |
Description | Geikie acknowledges receipt of Fitzmaurice's letter communicating Sir Edward Grey's request that the Royal Society nominate a representative to the International Conference on Sleeping Sickness, currently sitting in London. As the Council will not meet until 4 July, Geikie presented the matter to the President and has been authorised to accept the suggestion of Dr John Rose Bradford.
He has also been asked to communicate their surprise and regret that, given the extensive work done by the Society on Sleeping Sickness, they were not informed that the International Conference was to occur. |
