TitleCopy letter from Archibald Geikie, to Sir William Napier Shaw, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date16 July 1907
DescriptionGeikie states that the Royal Society propose to print an additional 750 copies of the Antarctic Reports. With regard to the large scale maps, he considers these too bulky for their volumes and proposes that a small scale general map would suffice for the general reader, while any meteorologist could refer to the large scale maps at the Royal Society, the Geographical Society or similar institutions in the United Kingdom and abroad.

If Shaw determines that the large scale maps must go in, Geikie will consider that decision final. Otherwise, Geikie's proposal regarding the small scale maps will be followed. If he decides on the former, Captain Hepworth will give instructions as to the relevant portions of the maps, plus any additional lettering or titles that may be needed.
