TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to the Director of the Meteorological Office
Date5 September 1907
DescriptionIn reply to the Director's enquiry regarding meteorological observations at Ascension Island, Harrison has looked through the Society's list of manuscript meteorological observations and finds only one entry relating to Ascension, regarding magnetical experiments made at various stations visited during the voyage of HM Surveying Sloop 'Chanticleer' 1828 to 1830. The manuscript observations of the Sabine Magnetic Surveys alluded to by Dr Chree and published in the series 'Observations made at the British Colonial Magnetic Observatories' are not in the Society's list and do not appear to be in the Society's possession. They Society's office has endeavoured to trace them before, but unsuccessfully.
