TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Professor Francis Gotch, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date17 October 1907
DescriptionHarrison initially writes to state that the manuscript letter Gotch mentions is not mentioned in their catalogue of manuscripts, and that given its date he would not expect it to be. He suggests that the Royal Society's staff search for it, as they know their archives best, and if they should find it he anticipates no difficulty obtaining permission for Mrs Bode to see it. Permission to take a copy would be needed from Council, but that is unlikely to be refused if required for a good purpose. He speculates that the letter may be in an early volume of their archives, as these have not been indexed, but Professor Church is working on them.

A postscript records that following a consultation with Church, who has been through the relevant material within the stated time period, he is satisfied that they do not have the letter mentioned.
