TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Messrs Harrison & Sons
Date18 October 1907
DescriptionHarrison seeks clarification concerning paper charges. Their letter of 17 October states thay provide paper for extra copies of Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society charged to authors, yet their paper statements consistently give numbers between 50 and 100 above their normal edition of 800. He reminds them that the Royal Society now pay for all the expenses connected with authors' copies, which they recoup direct from the authors. Regarding authors' copies for Proceedings of the Royal Society, he asks if it is true that they use none of their paper for these.

They also state that the whole use of paper for proofs is charged on the statements, but he wants to know what 'whole use' covers, and whether the Philosophical Transactions and Proceedings proofs are printed on their respective papers, and if slip proofs for meetings and proofs sent to editors of journals are printed on the Royal Society's paper.
