TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Professor Bertram Hopkinson, Engineering Laboratories, Cambridge
Date18 October 1907
DescriptionHarrison explains that the President of the Royal Society, at the request of the Director of the Indian Institute of Science at Bangalore, Dr Morris William Travers, has agreed to nominate an Advisory Committee to co-operate with Travers in selecting two people to be nominated to the Chairs of the Technical Chemistry and Electro Technics, each to receive £1000 per annum and a house at Bangalore, due to be established in connection with the Institute.

Suggestions for the Professor of Technical Chemistry will be presented to the Committee by the Director. The President has asked whether Hopkinson will serve on that Committee, and will attend a meeeting to confer with Travers at 4.30pm on Thursday. Harrison asks that he inform him at once should he be unable to accept, but if he does agree he should treat this letter as a summons to Thursday's meeting.
