TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to William Edward Sumpner
Date7 November 1907
DescriptionHarrison responds to Sumpner's enquiry concerning illustrations for his paper on alternate current measurement by quoting from the instructions they issue, which state that all forms of illustration should be submitted in a state suitable for direct photographic reproduction, and further suggests that they be drawn on a large scale in Indian ink on a white surface with lettering adapted to a reduction in scale.

He proposes that Sumpner indicate the greatest amount of reduction his figures will allow. Harrison also suggests that he use bold lettering on the originals, so that it is still legible once it has been reduced, and if this should be a problem, he recommends inserting it in pencil so that the engraver may ink it in afterwards.
