TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Dr Charles William Andrews, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date19 November 1907
DescriptionHarrison responds to Andrews letter of 12 November, explaining in relation to the illustrations to his Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society paper, that West Newman have written to Andrews requesting an appointment to show their representative the specimens from which the plates are to be prepared to allow them to make an inclusive estimate for the work. This needs to occur regardless of whether Miss Woodward or their own draughtsman does the drawing, and Harrison emphasises that his only wish is for the work to be done competently and quickly for a reasonable price. He asks that Andrews inform West Newman of convenient times to meet.

Regarding the two text figures and the question of who is to bear the expense of preparing drawings for them, Andrews' request that the matter be brought before the Sectional Committee has been noted. When he speaks to West Newman, Andrew might show what he intends for these figures to allow them to quote a price for the drawing, which Harrison could quote at the Committee meeting. Alternatively, the specimens could be photographed if that would be suitable and save expense.
