Description | Harrison responds to Brockhaus' letter of 11 November, explaining that the report on the Leibnitz-Newton manuscripts referred to in his correspondence with their printers was printed by order of the President and Council in 1880, but that it appears to be a domestic document and so has not been published or placed on sale.
They have been unable to find a spare copy. If he locates one, he would be happy to supply it, or if Brockhaus to put his client in direct communication with the Royal Society, the Council may present him with a copy if he has sufficient claim. In the meantime, their customer can only consult the copy held at the Society if he cannot find one in a German library. They offer to answer his question directly, if he wishes to write to them to explain the matter he wishes to settle by reference to the report. |
