TitleCopy letter from an unknown correspondent, to Sir Archibald Geikie, Secretary, Royal Society
Date31 July 1907
DescriptionGives the estimated length and cost of Florence Buchanan's paper on 'The Time taken in passing the Synapse in the Spinal Cord of the Frog. Part I'. The reports of the two referees have been seen by Professor S Martin, Chairman of the Physiology Committee, and he has expressed grave doubts whether the 'Proceedings of the Royal Society' is the proper medium of publication for a paper of this length and cost. Martin suggests printing a synopsis in the 'Proceedings' but the full paper is much more suitable to a journal dedicated to physiological papers. Martin wishes Geikie to know this so that he may write to Buchanan if he desires, advising her to adopt the aforementioned course. The paper has not been read. Explains why there has been considerable delay with the paper. Lists various enclosures [not enclosed].
