TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Sir David Gill, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date28 November 1907
DescriptionHarrison gives the names of the guests who have consented to respond to Gill's toast as Lord Fitzmaurice of the Foreign Office and the Dean of Westminster. He explains that Fitzmaurice has been active in convening the International Conference, which met recently and is to meet again in January 1908, regarding Sleeping Sickness, the investigation of which the Royal Society instigated and have chiefly carried out. The Council's report, which should reach him by Saturday, will include reference to this.

He includes a list of other important guests, and highlights the role of Lord Blyth in the work of the Tuberculosis Commission, and the recently knighted Sir Charles Lucas, who has been appointed Secretary to the newly constituted Dominion Department of the Colonial Office and who is noted as a good friend to the Society.

If there is anything else Harrison can do, he will be available to meet before 4pm the following day.
