DescriptionHarrison has spent a significant amount of time trying to call the secretary on the telephone, only to discover, upon reference to the Telephone Directory, that the number given in their notepaper, 3611 Central, is apparently wrong.

He received an acknowledgment on 4 November to a letter he wrote on 1 November regarding the nomination of a member of the Institution of Naval Architects to the General Board of the National Physical Laboratory, but has had no further communication from him.The Council of the Royal Society meet the next day to determine the members of the General Board for the ensuing year, and asks that they send the name of their chosen nominee by midday tomorrow.
