TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Dr J [George] Johnstone Stoney, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date6 January 1908
DescriptionHarrison reciprocates Stoney's wishes for the New Year. With regard to the certificate in favour of Gerald Stoney, he states that it has been received and will be read at the first meeting of the Royal Society on 16 January, and testimonial documents may be sent in prior to the Council meeting at which claims are first considered in the third week in February, but these are not attached to the certificate. The certificate remains suspended and open to signature by Fellows up to the time of the election, but no names added after the third week in January will be included in the printed list circulated to Fellows, due to the necessity of getting it into type by the beginning of February.

Harrison regrets that Mr Parsons will not be able to attend the only meeting of Council held since his election, and now must go to Egypt for six weeks, but has said that he is much better and hopes to return in six weeks.
