DescriptionWith reference to The General Editor's letter requesting leave to reproduce the two colour plates "Twilight and Afterglow effects" which appear in the Krakatoa Report, the drawings are the property of the artist, Mr W Ascroft. The plates have been reproduced the Messrs Cassell & Co but they made their own arrangements with Mr Ascroft. With regard to plate 1 in the report, no objection would be entertained to its reproduction, provided the source of the illustration was mentioned, and the fact that it was reproduced by leave of the Royal Society.'
