TitleCopy letter from Archibald Geikie to Mr F E Beddard
Date6 March 1908
DescriptionLord Avebury has asked the Royal Society to be represented at a conference which is to meet at his home, 6 St James Square on Friday for the purpose of considering some legislation to check the destruction of beautiful birds. The Royal Society as a corporate body is naturally shy of committing itself to a line of action where there is great difference opinion. The Foreign Secretary has agreed to attend the conference and Geikie would be much obliged if Beddard would attend as a representative of the Royal Society.
