TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison to Miss F G Davenport, Department of Historical Research, Carnegie Institution, Washington DC, USA
Date27 March 1908
Description'Dear Madam,
In reply to your enquiry if the 17th inst. I beg to say that there does not seem to be any letter of Franklin's among the Canton Papers dated August 25, 1767. There is one of the date your suspected, August 25, 1769, which may be the letter in question. It relates to a comet, and it is quite short. It begins "When I was at Paris about 10 days since". It is dated from Craven Street. I am interested to hear of the progress of your report and shall be glad to see a copy when published.'
