Description'Dear Professor Starling,
The Chairman of the Physiology Committee has brought to my notice this afternoon that the fact that some of the observations in the paper by Messrs Meltzer and Auer, which you have communicated and when was set down for reading to-day, have been anticipated by Dr Ringer ("Journal of Physiology", VII, (1886) p301; "Practitioners" XXXL, p81) before Losb published his remarks in 1893. By direction of the President the reading of the paper has been postponed, until you have been able to communicate with the authors so that a rectifications of the references to previous work may be made by them.'
