DescriptionGeikie acknowledges a letter with copies of the Bill and Petition. The Royal Society as a body cannot sign the petition nor is it moral for the President [of the Royal Society] to do so, but he had authorised the pamphlet to be placed on the notice board of the Society and will try and tell as many of the Fellows [of the Royal Society] as possible.
