| Description | There is no power under the Statutes, nor in the practice of the Royal Society, to make any reduction on the composition fee of £60 in respect of contributions already paid. The only instance of an exception being made to this rule was in the case of a Fellow who paid his first contribution in ignorance of the Statute about composition, and shortly afterwards desired to compound. In that case the amount of the contribution was allowed to count as an instalment of the composition fee, but the circumstances were regarded as special. |
