DescriptionThe extract from the License to the Royal Society to occupy Kew Observatory dated 22 December 1882 should give him the information he desires, namely: that the Royal Society are not to make any structural alterations in the Observatory without the consent of H M Works, and that they will keep the building in repair. The Commissioners declare they will carry out any necessary external works, and the Royal Society will not be responsible for any damage caused by tempest, fire or accident.
