Title | Copy letter from Archibald Geikie, to Messrs Alfred Alexander & Company, Southwick, Sunderland, and other factories |
Date | 29 July 1908 |
Description | At the request of HM Government, a committee is investigating certain problems connected with an opthalmic disease known as Glass Workers' Cataract. A small sub-committee has been appointed to visit certain Glass Works, and inspect the various processes of manufacture, but nothing this committee does will interfere with the men at work. Geikie asks the factory owners if they would see their way to permitting the sub-committee access to the workplace and any necessary facilities on 31 August. |
