TitleCopy letter from Lord Rayleigh [John William Strutt] and [Sir George Dashwood Taubman Goldie], President of the Royal Geographical Society, to The Admiralty
DateAugust 1908
DescriptionOn the occasion of the publication by the Royal Society of the volume containing the Meteorological results of the National Antarctic Expedition, the Presidents bring to the notice of the Admiralty the valuable service of Lieutenant Charles Royds. He had charge of the Meteorologcal Observations, and the way in which that section of work was conducted, under extraordinary difficulties, has secured the approval of scientific men. His observations are now being published. He also conducted a very remarkable sledge journey over the great ice barrier with valuable results.

They hope that these services to science may receive favourable consideration.
