TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Professor Sydney John Hickson, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date7 October 1908
DescriptionSending the papers by Mr Doncaster and Miss Durham. Professor [William] Bateson said in his covering letter that Doncaster's paper was intended to be printed first, as Dunham's paper is a consequence of it. The regulations concerning previous publication of papers are laid out in the Year Book, which states that the communicator must satisfy himself that the paper has not previously appeared elsewhere. As a rule the Royal Society does not print papers which have been previously printed.

The Secretaries would be glad to know whether Hickson thinks the papers could suitably appear in Reports of the Evolution Committee than in 'Proceedings [of the Royal Society]'. Part of the Report contains Studies in the Physiology of Heredity. A paper by Dunham is already going to press in the Report[?]. If Hickson thinks so, the Committee could be asked to include these papers in the part.
