TitleCopy letter from Archibald Geikie, to Dr Charles Chree, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date16 October 1908
DescriptionThe engraver thinks there will be no difficulty in carrying out his instructions regarding the curves. But he makes some suggestions which are being sent along with the sample curve of 13 December 1903 and 8[?]-9 May 1902 [no enclosures]. Geikie believes the Director would wish to see the latter[?] to see how this would work on a new block. As a new block costs about a guinea more, it seems a pity to get a new one unless it is finally decided to adopt the scale on either margin of the pencilled copy. Costs have been heavy, and unnecessary expense is to be avoided.

It is desirous that the pages of the Reports do not exceed nine by seven inches. Diagrams are not improved by having their margins narrowed.

The curves can be gotten on with, along with any more Chree has ready.
