There is no indication of any manuscript or records in the archives. The particulars in Birch's History are taken directly from the journal books. There is a printed catalogue of manuscript letters of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, but Schroder's name does not occur in the list. The only thing that can be traced is a paper of his dated 1662 and indexed 'How to increase Salpeter'. There is also a paper under Schoter, the subject being 'Foils for Precious Stones as practised in Norimberg'. Harrison is sorry he cannot give him any further biographical details. |
