TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison to Dr C [Charles] J [James] Martin, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date5 January 1909
Description'Dear Dr Martin,
On closer inspection of the certificates sent in by you on the 28th December, I find that the certificate in favour of Professor Robert Muir, of Glasgow, is signed by only five Fellows, and is therefore not valid. The five Fellows who have signed are Sir Rubert Boyce, Prof Starling, Major Ross, Prof Nuttall, and yourself. To save you trouble, if you will let me know the name of some other Fellow who will be likely to sign Prof Muir's certificate I will sent the form on to him for signature, and provided he signs and returns it promptly it can be considered as having ben received here within the statutory period.'
