TitleCopy letter from Archibald Geikie to Captain Scott
Date18 January 1909
DescriptionGeikie writes about the complaint made by Scott about Dr W N Shaw's preface in the Meteorological Volume. Geikie addresses Scott's issue with the treatment of the complaint, and the Officer, Admiral Field, to whom the whole case was submitted as an observer outside the Royal Society circle. Geikie has offered to change any issues in the second Meteorological Volume and potentially insert a fly slip into the first, if this does not satisfy Scott, Geikie does not see that any useful purpose will be served in prolonging their correspondence.
