Description'Dear Professor Farmer,
In futherance of your request that the Biological Laboratory of the Imperial College of Science might be furnished with a copy of the portrait of the late Sir Michael Foster, painted for a body of subscribers among the Fellows and by them presented to the Royal Society, I have received authority from the Treasurer of the Portrait Fund to send you herewith a photogravure of the portrait which I am directed to ask the Imperial College to accept.'
