TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Commander Ettrick William Creak, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date12 February 1890
DescriptionIn searching through old manuscripts a number of magnetical obseravtions made at Lucknow and stated in Markham's 'Indian Surveys' to have perished, were found stored away. A number of similar observations made onboard the 'Erebus' and 'Terror' and other ships, and of tidal registers communicated by the East India Company were unearthed and at the last meeting of the Library Committee it was resolved that they should be referred to Creak for advice as to their disposal. Rix asks Creak to look through them and report upon them for the guidance of the Committee.
