DescriptionAdverting to Rix's letters of 5 December 1888 and 31 May 1889, in reply to which he was informed that the matter in question was still under consideration, Rix wonders if they can yet answer the following two questions; whether the Royal Society is rightly charged with tax under Schedule A on £1050 although the building is crown property, and whether the Society should not be exempt from tax in respect of its Scientific Relief Fund which is a purely charitable institution.
