TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Sir William Thomson, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date6 February 1891
DescriptionA paper may not be published in any journal before it appears in the 'Proceedings of the Royal Society' without the consent of the President and the author. 'Nature', 'The Electrician' and 'The Chemical News' have hitherto had a general permission from the President, with the author's consent. Rix writes to Thomson to ask if he continues this privilege as President. Rix also writes to ask if Dr Johnson may publish his paper in the 'Lancet' and the 'British Medical Journal'. Dr [Michael] Foster thinks there would be no objection, such permission generally having been given in the case of any respectable journal.
