| Description | In reply to Morton's letter of 18 December 1889, it is no doubt customary for only chartered Societies to designate members as 'Fellows', Societies not chartered using the term 'Members'. From the quotations in Morton's letter is would appear that in the Royal Society of Tasmania the use of the term Fellows as applied to the gentlemen belonging to that Society has been officially recognised. The only objection by the Royal Society is the use of the phrase 'Fellows of the Royal Society', or the letters FRS, without the addition of Tasmania. |
