TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor Thomas Rupert Jones, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date6 March 1890
DescriptionRix saw the Treasurer, John Evans, yesterday and Evans thinks the small amount in which the Royal Society accidentally over-ran the grant made to Jones need not be taken into account. Evans does not however give much hope of the Council making any new grant and suggests Jones apply to the Geological Society for the expense of the drawings for which he has just sent receipts. If the Geological Society decline the application it will not then be too late to apply to the Royal Society Council. As the plates mostly go to the illustration of the Geological Society's Journal the Treasurer thinks it doubtful the application would meet with success.

Rix returns herewith the applications and receipts.
