TitleCopy letter from Michael Foster, to Sir Reginald Earle Welby, Her Majesty's Treasury
Date17 March 1890
DescriptionSince his letter of 23 December 1889 relative to the Reports of the 'Challenger' Commission, the second and last volume of the physical and chemical series has been published. The report on the deep sea deposits is in progress but the recent illness of Dr Murray has prevented its publication and it will probably appear next October. The £800 from Her Majesty's Treasury in January has now been spent and as further payments will shortly be due to Murray, Foster asks that £800, the balance of the grant of £1600 remaining in the Treasury, be paid to Messrs Robarts, Lubbock & Co.
