Date2 May 1890
DescriptionThe Royal Society's first Soirée is on 14 May. It will be for gentlemen only and there are usually 450 present. The correspondent asks if they will supply materials, make and serve claret-cups for that occassion. Asks for 400 sandwiches, same in quality and kind as supplied last year. The Society will not require plates or glasses this year but they will need bowls. Also asks for a man to wait on the wine-table.
