TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Mr Albert O'Donnell Bartholeyns, 11 Spring Gardens, S.W.
Date23 May 1890
DescriptionThe Officers had before them the testimonial of three candidates yesterday and thought it unlikely the post would be congenial to Bartholeyns. Rix is not sure that with the new arrangements which the Society has in view that it would be possible to let Bartholeyns work immediately underneath him and in many respects Rix thinks Bartholeyns would probably not have been comfortable. The Officers have also decided to pay even less than the sum Rix mentioned. In any case they have decided to appoint another man and he regrets that Bartholeyns should have been put to any trouble and returns his testimonials herewith.
